I was in kind of a funk last night about what to sketch. Since the following day was Friday I thought this might be a good time to revive a theme I used for a time last year. Thank God it's Fish Friday. To kick off I did this little Puntius Tetrazona or Tiger Barb. Many years ago I used to have several aquariums and I always had a few of these. They could be aggressive but I never really had any trouble from them. The occasional nipped fin was about all I would witness. They were always an easy sell at the store I worked at back in the day. I managed the fish department in the hardware store I worked. We had about 30 tanks to display all types of fish and these guys were ever present. Beautiful in schools.

What is Fish Friday?
I like your Tiger Barb, it's very playful and makes me want to take the kids to the aquarium soon (so that I can draw some fish :) )
When I was growing up the school cafeteria always had fish on Friday for all the Catholic students. Then there is the expression of Thank God It's Friday in anticipation of the weekend. The way my mind works it was only natural I would come up with something goofy like Thank God It's Fish Friday (TGIFF). Glad you enjoyed the Tiger Barb. I always enjoy watching the fish.
Very pretty! Wonderul idea not to limit yourself. I thought only sheep and daschunds were in your universe (though they are, of course, great fun!). Maybe you should make Fish Friday a regular!
Yes, what is fish friday? Thanks for sharing the info and picture of this tiger barb. Lovely drawing.
Fish Friday! I remember it, I understand it and I find that I have missed it! (Guess I've been around longer than I thought!)
Fish Friday still exists(though not officially, and in turn with eggs...) especially in the school I worked for until last July.
Lovely fish indeed !
I've left an award on my blog for you. Come and see!
Ah, fish Friday is back! Great fish. Tuna casserole, fish sticks and macaroni with cheese made Fridays dreadful growing up. Actually I used to like the fish sticks with a special homemade sauce but still it got boring.
Thanks for the explanation about the fish friday!

We are related and need to share info (Willa J. Stone Lewis and George F. Lewis are my great-grandparents). You mentioned your grandfather. My grandmother spoke of him often (her half-brother?). They used to cross the Strawberry Creek to get to school.
