They are mostly from memory and reference photos. I look at a number of books that have pictures of cactus in them. I recall when I had many in pots when I gardened in California, plus recollections of when I was stationed in the southwest with the Air force. I put the cactus in settings that are purely fictitious. For the most part they are the result of imagination.
Hmm, Prickly little fella. I must have a try at these cacti one day soon. Not a lot of these around my neck of the woods, but as you say I can always use reference material. Btw, Oh I loved 'Rocky & Bullwinkle too!
