Work In Progress - Juneau Waterfront

Here is the start of a new piece sketched in ink. I am not sure what I am going to do for the background as the view is kind of dark and murky. I ruled out color pencil and decided to do this as a watercolor. I really don't know what I am doing, but I heading forward. My brother Mark lives in Juneau. I wonder if he'll reconize the place.

the best part with painting or drawing is that you can do whatever you feel like even though you don't know what you are doing:) and very often it comes out amazing:))
I admire your precision and patience!!! such a detail drawing!!
I cannot wait to see the progress:)

I can't draw crap so of course I love coming here and seeing your progress! My Mom, brother and son draw well...what happened to me?

Also, how do you get your drawings on your blog? Photograph? Looks like you drew right on the page!

I wish I could visit Juneau!

Debbie, I use a flat bed scanner, a function of my printer/fax/copy/scanner machine that I bought for my home office when I started working remote from the office. It will take just up to about 9x12. I haven't done anything larger than that yet, but bigger than that I would have to take a photo with the digital camers.

Thanks Anetka. One thing about working with the ink is that I can't get fussy when I get a little wonky with my lines. There were a couple of places my lines didn't go where my eyes were telling me I needed to go.

Wow, this is no small feat--all those lines that require an eye for persepctive. I'd be tempted to leave this alone. It looks great already and I am sure your brother will know exactly what it is. Lisa

Alan, thank you for the information. I'm not an expert with scanners, but I think I'll give this a try. There is one on this contraption :) under my keyboard that hasn't been used!

I'll let you know...

Happy Easter!
