Alki Point Lighthouse

I have added color to the lighthouse. It is done in Prismacolor pencils. I am going to set it aside for a bit to see if I want to add anything to it. With the basic outline done in pencil to establish the form, I put color to it for about an hour and a half.

Alan, I love the richness of the red in your Prismacolor version. I also think you pencil sketch is just as fascinating to look at as your finished version.

Alan, I absolutely love lighthouses! This is terrific! When it is finished, I would be honored to post in on my blog if you would let me. I just started blogging and will have a few lighthouse pictures since they are "a few of my favorite things"!

I'll be back :-)

This is coming along nicely! The color really adds to it. I'll be back to follow the progression.

Hi, Alan. I didn't know you were interested in art. I gues it runs in your family.

Nice lighthouse. I especially like the linework. Keep it up.

I still enjoy working with Prismacolor pencils. I like to use them over watecolors to add texture, form, and detail.

Very good! I love lighthouses. I have a nice collection of the "lost" lighthouses. You're after my heart in doing these!

Alan -- I remember stopping by here and seeing your lighthouse BEFORE you added color. Wow! This is great! I love the richness of the red roof! A road trip to just draw and paint lighthouses would be an excellent vacation -- I think you should do just that.
