Tree Frog

This is a quick little tree frog using watercolor pencils. The intent for me was to do a quick loose sketch and a quick coloring. Not looking for fine detail. At some point I will graduate into using ink for the sketch and then the color. Using pencil for now as I try to gain some confidence in what I am doing.

Welcome to EDM, Alan.

I think your little tree frog turned out great!

I'm still struggling with the watercolour pencils, but they are a nice medium to take on travels. So easy to transport and you can always add water later at home.

Thank you Bonny and Shelly for your kind comments. Shelly, I can see why red and green tree frogs might interest you.

Hi! Alan: You caught the the Frog! Now, do it with pen. I love my pens. I have Lamy, Rotring, and Retro 51 and a Parker. Ok, I have pen and pencil thing.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Tell me about that pesky old job. (Idea?) Where I work they have LWOP-Leave without Pay. You can come to work and sign up and walk out the door. I cannot do the LWOPPY thing. I have to have my money.
Thank-You to your Father too! My cousin was there and did two tours, He carried a gun. So, double thanks for the air support.
Love the lighthouse. You have Daniel Smith near you. I also have Dick Blick right here in town and online.
I love my artwork. I am just taking the Tiger by the tail.

I really like your frog. I just returned from Costa Rica and the little frog are so colorful and cute and even a little toxic. Hope you try the pen soon it is great fun. If you make a wrong line just make a new one or leave the wrong one. Nice blog.
